Funding Priorities:
The Foundation was established to address lung-related diseases in the State of Georgia. Today, the Foundation is solely focused on pediatric asthma programs and those programs that align with our mission to “bring a better life to Georgia’s children with asthma with a primary focus on education and prevention.”
Please include in your application the following: information on how many lives will be impacted through the request as well as a detailed description on the use of the grant funds if awarded.
When possible, the Foundation typically prefers to fund smaller organizations and focuses on education vs. direct clinical care.

The Foundation typically does not support General Operating or Capital Campaigns.
Eligibility Requirements:
The Trustees will consider all qualified applications received from organizations that are exempt from taxation under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3). If you are a 509 (a)(3) Supporting Organization, please be prepared to provide additional information. Grants are not made to support individuals.
Grant Cycle and Deadline Information:
The Foundation’s Board meets semi-annually in the spring and fall. Applications are due on March 15 for the spring cycle and August 15 for the fall cycle. The online application portal typically opens two months prior to the deadline. The Board typically meets to review grant applications in April or May for the spring cycle and October or November for the fall cycle, and grantees receive notification following those reviews, generally 8-10 weeks after the application deadline.
Grant Range:
The average size of a first-time grant is between $20,000 – $70,000. Grants are for one year.
Restrictions:
The Foundation generally does not fund clinical care and prefers to focus on education and prevention.

Please note the Board is open to funding preventive programs such as mold remediation, smoking cessation, etc. Please feel free to contact us to explore ideas that pertain to childhood asthma.
